Coke Breeze Backfill

Purpose of the Coke Breeze Backfill

Coke breeze backfill is used as an electrically conductive filling of anode grounding electrodes in the circuits of a cathodic protection device. The carbonaceous backfill is used to reduce the transition resistance between the impressed current anode and soil, suitable for use in all types of soils.

Description

The backfill is made of coke breeze of different fraction sizes, as well as an activating component made on the basis of mineral substances, an analogue of the carbonaceous backfill KMА device.
Backfill volume resistivity is not more than 0.06 Ohm·m.
Packaged in bags of 40 kg, on request, delivery in a big bag of 1 ton is possible.

Advantages of the Backfill

  • High electrical conductivity.
  • The presence of coke breeze backfill in the cathodic protection system contributes to the expansion of the spread of the anode current around the anode.
  • It allows reducing a number of impressed current anodes to obtain the required resistance to spreading in the soil.
  • It is suitable for use with metal alloy sacrificial anodes and polymeric anodes.
