Designed to prevent the attachment of shells, marine fouling, and mollusk larvae to the walls of pipelines, which impede or prevent the flow of seawater to pumps located in sea chests. Moreover, MGPS slows down corrosion processes on the inner walls of pipelines.
Intended use
Marine Growth Prevention Systems (MGPS) are primarily used to prevent the accumulation of marine organisms on submerged structures in marine environments and also to slow down corrosion processes on the inner walls of pipelines.Advantages and features
Easy to install and reliable to exploit;Works without the use of toxic and poisonous chemical compounds;
Maintenance cost savings on replacing or cleaning pipelines;
Fits every vessel type;
Does not interfere with reverse osmosis desalination.
System configuration for one sea chest
Multi-channel DC source (power supply), allowing control of the System from the ship's bridge or control station, supporting the RS485 protocol;Copper and aluminum anodes are an effective combination that prevents the proliferation of organisms while simultaneously providing corrosion protection;
An iron anode is used instead of an aluminum anode in cases where the ship's pipes are made of copper-nickel alloy.
The sizes of the anodes depend on the capacity of the seawater intake pumps. They are always installed in pairs in the sea chest ahead of the pipe outlet by yourself or by the supplier's certified specialist.
Multi-channel DC source with a control panel
Designed to power the anodes, protect them from external and internal overloads, and automatically maintain operating modes. It allows for system control from the ship's bridge or control station. RS485 protocol support.
Copper, aluminum and iron anodes
It is designed to ionize seawater with copper ions to terminate the vital functions of aquatic organisms and prevent their reproduction. Aluminum anodes provide a flocculation effect and create a gel-like film of aluminum hydroxide with copper ions.Environmentally friendly - they operate without the use of toxic and poisonous chemical compounds;
Low solubility;
Protect the inner surface of the pipeline from corrosion.
Operating principles
The operating principle of MGPS is based on the electrolytic method. Copper anodes generate ions that create an unfavorable environment for the settlement and reproduction of mollusks, mussels, algae, and others. Ions produced by the aluminum anode enhance the action of copper ions through the flocculation of released copper. As a result, a copper-aluminum film forms on the pipe walls, which serves as corrosion protection.To purchase equipment, leave a request on the website or contact us:
