Description
High Silicon Cast Iron Anodes of "Raduga" type
They are designed for work in cathodic protection schemes for main gas and oil pipelines, underground and surface reservoirs of oil products, gas and water, structures on piles, wells and other corrodible metal structures.AZZhk-RA Anode is a ferrosilide electrode equipped with a cable outlet for connection to the main supply cable from the converter of the Transformer Rectifier. AZZhk -RA Anode complies with GOST R 51164.
Anodes operate under in any soil and climatic conditions when the electrodes are located below the depth of soil freezing.
Ferrosilide alloy, the most common material for the production of impressed current anodes, has proved itself as a durable and strong material.
High silicon cast iron electrodes are much stronger than graphite ones.
A distinctive feature of high silicon cast iron electrodes is their resistance to current load.
The arrangement of the electrodes can be horizontal or vertical.
Characteristics
- Rated operational anode current of the anode - 5.0 A.
- The contact resistance of the contact connections shall be no more than 0.05 Ohm
- The anode is equipped with a cable outlet with a cross-section of 6 mm 2 or more and a length of 3.0 m designed for a rated voltage of 660 V.
- The insulation resistance of the contact unit is not less than 100 Mohm.

It combines packaged electrodes with the correct length of cable attached to the main cable at the factory.The mounting technique of surface anodic earthing depends on the anode installation method (horizontal or vertical positioning) and is determined by the cathodic protection project. Special modifications have been developed for laying at great depth or in a well.
Recommendations for the use and operation of the impressed current anodes:
- If soil resistivity is from 0 to 10 Ohm * m, it is recommended to use titanium-based impressed current anodes;
- If soil resistivity is less than 20 Ohm * m, it is recommended to use metal impressed current anodes;
- If soil resistivity is in the range from 20 to 50 Ohm * m, it is recommended to use the ferrosilide-based impressed current anodes;
- If soil resistivity is from 50 to 150 Ohm * m, it is recommended to use polymeric impressed current anodes;
- If soil resistivity is more than 150 Ohm * m, it is recommended to use extended impressed current anodes.
