Elliptical MMO/Ti Hull Anode is designed to create optimal current density on the protected surface. Suitable for installation on different vessel types, including ice-going vessels and icebreakers.
Intended use
Anodes are used in impressed current cathodic protection systems to protect ship hulls against corrosion. They can be installed on ships, vessels, or marine structures operated in unlimited navigation areas, as well as on ice-going vessels and icebreakers. It features an ice protection grid and is effective for operation in extreme Arctic conditions.
Special Feature
The elliptical shape of the anode improves current distribution and allows the anode to be installed on a ship's hull with a complex profile. As a result, optimal distribution of protective current is achieved, covering a larger area of the ship's underwater surface.
Description
The anodes are designed to withstand ice conditions. The working part of the anode is made of a titanium alloy (minimum 99.24% titanium) with a coating of platinum mixed metal oxides (MMO). The non-working part of the anode has a rubber coating.
There may be a configuration with a cofferdam, which is a cylindrical steel welded watertight casing with a wall thickness not less than 10 mm. For cable entry into the cofferdam, a watertight gland cable entry is provided. Upon customer request, the dimensions of the cofferdam can be modified.
