The ISCZ cathodic protection station, built on the basis of switching power supplies, is designed for electrochemical protection of various underground structures: main pipelines (gas pipelines, oil pipelines, product pipelines and other pipelines for various purposes), utility facilities, storage tanks and other similar objects located in various soils, including in soils with increased aggressiveness.
In addition to its main purpose, the converter can be used as a direct current source in any other technological processes.
The converter can work both in offline and remote mode. For remote monitoring and control, the converter is equipped with signal adapters with various types of interfaces: a two-wire half-duplex RS-485 interface via MODBUS RTU protocol, an "analog current loop" and using a GSM modem.
Construction features
The station consists of a main and backup rectifier. The rectifier consists of a block of switches and terminals, a control unit and a pulse power module. This equipment is mounted in a 482.6mm (19 in) series rack manufactured in accordance with GOST28601.1-90 and installed inside a metal cabinet.
In the upper part of the station, power modules and control units of the main and backup rectifier are installed in a row, on the front panels of which there are operating mode indicators, a display and a keyboard.
At the bottom there is a meter of electricity consumed by the station, a block of circuit breakers, a service outlet, terminal blocks (for connecting the load, a comparison electrode with a potential sensor, terminals for monitoring the current in the load (voltage drop on the shunt), communication lines), as well as surge protection modules. Each power module has a ribbed aluminum radiator with natural cooling.
It is possible to install an additional fan panel in the station rack for operation in difficult climatic conditions. The station can be mounted on the floor (pedestal), or on the wall.
ISKZ is equipped with a BAR automatic redundancy unit, which ensures the uninterrupted operation of the electrochemical protection system: if the main station or rectifier fails, the backup installation is activated with the help of the BAR. Automatic redundancy units are also connected when the operational parameters of the main UKZ are exceeded.
Functionality
- Providing measurement of the total and polarization potential according to GOST 9.602-2005 on one reference electrode (Cu/CuSO4, Ag/AgCl).
- Operation in the mode of automatic maintenance of the total or polarization potentials at a given level.
- Operation in the mode of automatic stabilization of the protective current.
- Operation in the mode of automatic stabilization of the output voltage.
- Operation in the output current interrupter mode: 12 sec on / 3 sec off; 8 / 2 sec; 4 / 1 sec.
- Alarm about the occurrence of a break in the circuit of the reference electrode or potential sensor with automatic transition to the output current stabilization mode, at the level that was before the accident occurred.
- Calculation and indication of the time when the structure is under cathodic protection.
- Calculation and indication of the time when the rectifiers are under the voltage of the supply network, in the switched-on state.
- Short circuit protection in the load circuit with automatic switching to operating mode after the short circuit is eliminated.
- All information about the output data, operating mode and other parameters of the rectifiers is displayed on LED displays.
- The ability to record (archive) the operating parameters of the rectifier (input voltage, output voltage and output current of the rectifier, total and polarization potentials), unauthorized access signals, emergency situations and other signals to a removable SD memory card with a capacity of up to 4GB. This function is not provided as standard, it is discussed when ordering.
- Remote monitoring of the rectifier operation and control using embedded adapters via RS-485 Modbus RTU interfaces, a 4-20 mA "current loop" and an adapter with a GSM modem. This function is not provided as standard, it is discussed when ordering.
- Remote on/off of the station.
- Work in local/remote operation mode.
Types of telemetry
T1 – connection via the "current loop" communication channel with physical signals (analog (4-20 mA) and discrete);
T2 – connection to the converter via serial digital interface RS-485, Modbus RTU protocol;
T3 – connection via GSM/GPRS communication channel version 1 (basic);
T4 – connection via GSM/GPRS communication channel version 2 (with two SIM cards);
T5 – connection via GSM/GPRS communication channel version 3;
T6 – connection to the converter via a radio channel (in the UHF band or others).
Combinations of telemetry types can be implemented into converters. In this case, the designation should be carried out as follows:
T13 – combination of T1 and T3 types
T25 – combination of T2 and T5 types
T124 is a combination of types T1, T2 and T4, etc.
Types of Current Interrupter
PT0 – current interrupter without GPS synchronization (GLONASS)
PT1 - current interrupter with GPS synchronization (GLONASS)
