Magnesium Sacrificial Anodes PM 15-80 | PM 12-80
Cathodic protection with the use of sacrificial anode is one of the most popular options for reducing the corrosion load on metal underground structures. Protection with the use of PM 15-80 and 12-80 sacrificial anodes is arranged when detecting and eliminating a breakthrough on-line is physically impossible - when the pipeline runs under a water body, roads and railways, in swampy and hard-to-reach areas. In the presence of sources of negative influence near the object: stray currents, soils with high corrosive activity, in case of detection of corrosion damage to the surface of the serviced object.
Description
The operating principle of PM 15-80 and PM 12-80 is to create a galvanic pair of object-protector, in which the latter is the anode. The operating principle of sacrificial cathodic protection is to create a protective potential when current flows in a galvanic pair of a structure-sacrificial anode. The stationary potential of the sacrificial anode has a more negative potential than the potential of the metal of the protected structure and is -1.6 V with a copper-sulfate reference electrode. It is made of magnesium alloy MP-1 or MP-2. The service life of one product is at least 15 years.
