Half Shell Zinc Bracelet Anode
Intended Use
Intended for anti-corrosion protection of the underwater part of pipe structure buildings operated in different climatic zones. The products are made of zinc alloy. Zinc is also included in the composition of the manufacture material, due to which the normal operation of the sacrificial cathodic protection in an aggressive environment is ensured.
Description
The sacrificial anode is a semi-cylinder mold made of a sacrificial zinc alloy on a steel strip reinforcement (core). The reinforcement cage is made of a strip of steel and coated with zinc. Longitudinal reinforcement is made of 20x4 mm strip. On the unload sides of the sacrificial anode, an insulating coating made of epoxy putty is applied in two layers. It is possible to apply any other insulating coating at the request of the customer.
Operation
The operating principle of sacrificial cathodic protection is to create a protective potential when current flows in a galvanic pair of a structure-sacrificial anode.
The sacrificial anode is the anode and the structure is the cathode. The current flowing from the sacrificial anode enters the structure and suppresses or limits the action of corrosive elements on its surface, and, consequently, prevents corrosive destruction of the structure. The stationary potential of the protector along the normal hydrogen electrode is not less than 900 mV, the operating potential is not less than 850 mV. The operating electrode potential of zinc protector alloys is not more than minus 1.05 V relative to the silver chloride reference electrode. Actual current output of zinc sacrificial alloys is not less than 2500 A hour/kg. Zinc alloy protectors, when disconnected from the protected structure, shall not be passivated and, when reconnected, restore the operating potential.
