Reusable Crucible Anod TFM-A
Purpose
It is used as part of a system for thermite welding of pipeline components. The Anod TFM-A mold is intended for welding steel or copper CP leads with a diameter of 3–8 mm to steel trunk pipelines with a wall thickness of at least 5 mm.
The mold is installed at the welding site. The end of the cable and thermite mixture are placed inside the mold, which is ignited using special matches, a fuse, or a remote ignition device. As a result of the welding process, a strong steel-to-copper bond is formed that is resistant to corrosion.
Description
The TFM-A crucible is a reusable cast mold made of heat-resistant refractory material. It is manufactured from heat-resistant graphite and consists of two identical halves joined together by special fasteners.
The lower part of the mold is equipped with magnetic clamps to ensure reliable and precise positioning on the pipeline section. After the welding operation, the mold is disassembled, cleaned, and prepared for reuse — refilled with thermite compound and an ignition element.
Advantages
The molds are universal and can be used for connecting to pipes of any diameter.
Welding operations on the pipeline can be performed during construction, maintenance, or repair — even while the pipeline is under operating pressure.
To ensure a durable and non-detachable corrosion-resistant connection, we recommend using the thermite mixture Anod TSM-A, manufactured according to TU 1793-064-73892839-2016.
The composition of the thermite mixture releases sufficient thermal energy upon ignition to melt its components, fusing them to the pipe surface and the CP lead.
Shear strength of the weld joint: 70 MPa.
